University of Wisconsin-Madison Inaugural recipient of The Damon A. Williams Trailblazing Change Agent Award, to be bestowed upon individuals whose achievements exemplify inclusive and organizational excellence, and in recognition of outstanding and distinguished leadership powering the work of community, access, and belonging at UW-Madison and beyond.
2017
University of Michigan’s Bicentennial Alumni Award, given to 20 trailblazing leaders who represent the best of the university’s leadership, research, and service values.

Waring Prize of Leadership from Western Reserve Academy (WRA). WRA is the nation’s 26th oldest private secondary school. Dr. Williams was the youngest person and first African American to receive this, the institution’s highest honor for leadership and service to humanity.
2014
Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), now the Big Ten Academic Alliance, commemorated Dr. Williams’ scholarship, and national impact with a resolution by all institutions highlighting his trailblazing contributions across the CIC and beyond
